
Raheela Khan-FitzGerald
Raheela Khan-FitzGerald is a London-based registered architect and sustainability specialist with a dedicated focus on whole life carbon assessment and low-impact design. With over seven years of experience spanning architecture, research, and industry working groups, she has been instrumental in advancing net-zero strategies and developing innovative tools to integrate sustainability into the design process.
Notably, she spearheaded the development of the Hawkins\Brown Emissions Reduction Toolkit (H\B:ERT V2), a whole life carbon web tool that has earned recognition through prestigious awards, including the RIBA President’s Award for Research (Climate Change).
Raheela has worked as an integral part of a variety of architectural projects, of various scales and sectors, with an emphasis on environmental design. Her expertise extends to significant contributions in shaping industry-wide guidance on climate action, particularly through her involvement with initiatives such as the Low Energy Transformation Initiative (LETI), the Architects Climate Action Network (ACAN), and the Whole Life Carbon Network. Raheela co-authored the LETI Embodied Carbon Primer and contributed to the second edition of the RICS PS Whole Life Carbon Assessment for the Built Environment (V3).
With a keen knowledge of digital tools, circular economy principles, and low-carbon procurement, Raheela ensures that carbon-conscious decision-making is seamlessly integrated throughout the lifecycle of the built environment.
