Peter Hayakawa is an Associate Sustainability Consultant at Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) with over 10 years of professional experience. He specializes in supporting the practical delivery of sustainability strategies, ensuring that projects achieve their environmental and social goals. Peter has led initiatives on community-level climate action and net zero, as well as economic and ESG planning. His expertise includes carbon consultancy, sustainable procurement, and environmental impact assessments. He is dedicated to helping clients integrate innovative solutions and best practices into their projects, enhancing environmental performance and promoting social value.

For six years, Peter led procurement policy and sustainable procurement at the University of Edinburgh, where he also worked to address Scope 3 emissions. His experience in this role has equipped him with a deep understanding of sustainable procurement practices and the complexities of managing indirect emissions.
