Founding Director, Perpendicular Architecture

Patrick is an Architect and founding director of Perpendicular which is based at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership in Cambridge. Perpendicular provides strategic advice to government, housing associations & developers on how to build more intelligently and sustainably using evidenced-based solutions. They focus on implementing underlying systemic change to enable organisations to successfully adopt more innovative design principles with a particular focus on using biogenic materials such as engineered timber. Perpendicular also works with developers to design and deliver buildings, mainly apartment buildings and housing, which require an innovative approach to construction using natural materials. Patrick has worked on projects internationally from China, Singapore, India and Russia (before 2014) and has been a key-note speaker at numerous conferences and events on the implementation of regenerative design principles. Patrick is also Chair of the Cambridge Association of Architects, the local RIBA branch, and Trustee of the city's new urban room, Cambridge Room.
