Maria Estrada is a Civil Engineer and Project Manager in Sisk's Integrated Sustainable Solutions team, part of their Design & Innovation Department.

Over 9 years her career has spanned project delivery, since starting out as a site engineer, moving to project management, quality control and sustainability and consistently prioritising safety, quality, and environmental impact.

In 2024, Maria led as project manager for Sisk an expert consortium for the Scalable Low Carbon Demonstrator project supported by Innovate UK. Completed in March 2025, it demonstrates performance and real-world testing of Ecocem ACT technology, a groundbreaking low-carbon cement, achieving 70% reduction in CO2 emissions against standard cement. The project establishes a reference site that highlights the technical performance, environmental advantages, and durability benefits of this innovative cement solution.

Maria continues to lead collaborative research in the UK and Ireland for development projects in concrete that contribute to the decarbonisation of the construction industry.
