Julie Townsend is an Executive Director and ESG lead for Europe and Asia Pacific at PGIM Real Estate.  Based in London, Julie oversees PGIM Real Estate’s sustainability strategy and implementation across these regions, with responsibility for building upon the businesses’ ambitious global environmental, social and governance program.  She is a member of the European Executive Council.

Julie has over 20 years-experience within the sustainability sector, the last 15 of which have been spent working in commercial real estate. 

Julie joins PGIM Real Estate after spending fifteen years at CBRE, latterly as head of environmental consultancy and a board member for CBRE UK Advisory.  Julie was responsible for leading all aspects of environmental sustainability advisory services and across all aspects of the property life-cycle, tackling key issues such as climate change mitigation and adaption, net zero alignment and wellbeing. Julie was also responsible for building capacity around Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) issues across the service lines/geographies of the UK business and was executive sponsor for the implementation of an ESG strategy into CBRE UK & Ireland Advisory.
