Having amassed a degree of experience working for a contractor, Emily is now focused client side with British Land incorporating that knowledge into more robust and effective sustainability strategies from project feasibility right through to practical completion and Handover.

Emily works directly for British Land’s development arm, overseeing the implementation of British Land’s Sustainability Brief for Our Places on a number of development projects including 2 Finsbury Avenue, Canada Water, Broadgate Campus and Regents Place. This involves driving success in areas such as embodied carbon, operational efficiency and NABERS Design for Performance, delivery of sustainability certifications and circular economy.

More recently Emily has been driving material reuse on projects, including initiatives around buildings as material banks and incorporating higher levels of reclaimed materials. Emily is also specialising in the sustainable impact of fit outs and is driving British Land’s new policies around this.
