Andy Heyne
Andy is a structural engineer with almost 30 years’ experience successfully delivering award winning projects. He enjoys using an expansive array of structural materials and responses and, where both appropriate and beneficial, is always keen to innovate by incorporating new materials, technologies, and ideas.
He has a strong collaborative approach and thrives on contributing to quality architecture, whether through finding creative structural solutions to unusual architectural forms, or by directly exposing the structure within the finished building.
Andy has championed modern methods of construction throughout his career, promoting the use of engineered timber since 2000 and working alongside some of the UK’s leading architects on the delivery of complex and highly sustainable timber buildings.
Andy leads HTS’s Timber Focus Group which undertakes research and technical investigation into low-carbon timber construction, he also contributes to leading industry events and authors thought leadership articles for the Structural Timber Association and New London Architecture.
