Alastair Ogle
Alastair believes that architecture should make the world a better place, both socially and environmentally. Applying this to his work, he designs with social and climatic issues in mind to ensure a building’s function and appearance can adapt with time.
With a specialism in designing deliverable mass timber buildings Alastair has an aptitude for creating elegant solutions to complex spatial and structural issues. He leads Waugh Thistleton’s research into engineered timber, ensuring that the practice’s designs continually push boundaries. His recent projects include the new Vitsoe headquarters in Leamington Spa; the first building in the UK to have a beech laminate veneer structure, and a collaboration with NHBC and UCL on the development of the New Model Building which simultaneously addresses the demands of the building safety act and the climate crisis.
