Meet the board
Adam Baranowski:
Head of Climate Action & Investment
BBP
Adam is oversees the Better Buildings Partnership’s work on net zero carbon, climate resilience and investor engagement. Adam also represents the BBP on the Technical Steering Group for the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard.
Adam has spent ten years in corporate sustainability with a focus on net zero carbon, climate resilience and ESG regulation in commercial real estate. He previously led the real estate strategy team at sustainability advisory firm Verco.
Will Arnold:
Head of Climate Action
IStructE
Will is an award-winning Fellow and staff member of The Institution of Structural Engineers, and is both a Chartered Structural Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist. In his role at IStructE, Will is responsible for embedding climate action into all aspects of the institution's work, driving the update of minimum standards for institution members, developing supporting guidance, and leading collaboration with wider industry.
Will is the lead author of Part Z (an industry proposal for embodied carbon regulation in the UK) and is helping to deliver both the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard, and the Built Environment Carbon Database.
Julie Godefroy:
Head of Net Zero Policy
CIBSE
Julie is a chartered engineer and has a PhD in low carbon buildings. She works as works as an independent consultant and as Head of Net Zero Policy for CIBSE, where she leads the work on climate action including, most recently, the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard.
Her current projects outside CIBSE including overheating in new and existing homes and building performance evaluation. She was the author of CIBSE TM40 – Health & Wellbeing in Building Services.
Rob Wall:
Assistant Director, Sustainability
BPF
Rob joined the British Property Federation in 2021 and leads the organisation’s work on sustainability and development. He has previously led policy teams in a number of business bodies, including the CBI and the National Housing Federation.
Rob started his career in the Civil Service, and has worked in policy and operational roles in the Cabinet Office and Home Office.
