Ian Heptonstall
As Director of the multi award-winning Supply Chain Sustainability School, Ian Heptonstall leads the team that provides learning and advice on emerging challenges to over 37,000 managers and leaders from over 6,000 construction suppliers annually.
The School is a supplier development programme for procurers in the construction sector who need to build the sustainability competence and capability of their supply chain. The School provides free learning to help construction companies build their skills in environmental and social sustainability, productivity, diversity, offsite, digital construction, and procurement. The School enables individuals to take training needs assessments against these key challenges and businesses to understand and benchmark their current practice.
The School’s platform won a Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development and amongst multiple other awards has been winner of the prestigious British Construction Industry Awards and Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply.
Ian combines his passion for sustainability with a passion for sport. As every true Yorkshireman does, Ian spends his summers playing cricket and passes his winters being chairman of his local rugby club.
